OUR VALUES

What are our values?

Professionalism

What do we mean by ‘professionalism’? We mean we will bring all of our professional experience to bear, working tirelessly to ensure we do everything we can to meet your needs. If we don’t feel we can ensure your complete satisfaction, we will tell you. We will never propose or undertake work simply to make us money. Our ethos is to provide you with the very best standard of service, at a realistic cost and in a reasonable timescale.

confidentiality

Although not every piece of work we undertake is sensitive, much of it is. You can always talk to our consultants in complete confidentiality. We have a strong understanding of the General Data Protection Regulations (in fact, we teach others on this topic!) and an eye to commercial sensitivity. We consider your confidence in us an essential part of our relationship that we would never want to jeopardise. We have all worked in Government, sensitive environments and our Principal Consultant holds a current security clearance.

impartiality

Many consultants believe they will have a better relationship with their clients by telling them predominantly what they believe they want to hear. We don’t think that helps much. What is the point in bringing in experts from outside an organisation if they don’t give expert advice impartially? That doesn’t mean we won’t work with you to produce the very best messages and communications plans from the work that we do with you, but you can rely on our expertise and honesty to ensure we deliver in your best interests.

rationality

There are few fields of work so beset with fashionable concepts and buzzwords as training and consultancy! Put simply, we think they are often a ‘switch off’ and we try to avoid them. Of course, some have found their way into common usage over time, but we will always work to justify findings and recommendations, rather than couching them in terms that just follow the latest trend. In fact, we would rather help focus your people on change, business implementation or operational delivery (in other words, what’s important). In a word: ‘performance’.

FAQs

  • What are the benefits of training?

Who wants to undertake a task without the knowledge or skills to do so successfully? Well, there are some with a particular learning style who do, but for the vast majority some relevant training (learning) is welcomed! There has been much research into how training can best be delivered, but one element always scores highly as most desired by delegates: time off the job to really think about their work and time spent with colleagues developing ideas for working more effectively. Above all, training and the investment in training is one of the principal factors in staff satisfaction and retention.

  • What does a typical training session look like?

Difficult one this, most of our training sessions are tailored to best meet the needs of the client, the delegates and the subject matter! However, there are some consistent elements. Whether we deliver our training online, or face-to-face, you are guaranteed an experienced and engaging facilitator. We use a mixture of presentation, interactive exercises and facilitated discussion to satisfy the required learning objectives. Every group is different, so we don’t script training sessions, but we do focus and balance each session in real time to make sure every group enjoys the very best experience. We will always offer a one-to-one discussion with any delegates that need a little more personal or confidential discussion, either during the session or afterwards. It is really common for delegates to feed back after our sessions that it was “way better than expected” (We like that!)

  • Why should I outsource training?

It is not always necessary to outsource training. There is often a judgement to be made between training run internally, by people who know the business well, and externally – with professional trainers who have a wide knowledge of lots of different business contexts and good practice (not to mention what doesn’t work) from different industries and organisations. If you have colleagues who can undertake training and your organisation is of sufficient size, we can offer ‘train the trainer’ courses with tailored materials specifically aimed at achieving your objectives.

  • Why do I need HR help?

There are many reasons why an employer may need HR help. Sometimes they don’t have any (or sufficient) internal HR resource. In other cases, a given case appears just too complex for their own HR people to handle. Bringing together a wealth of experience in HR and employment law, we can help navigate scenarios that may seem impenetrable and help you bring about the best possible outcomes.
